Looking for fun filled ideas to do with the kiddos this holiday Season?

We have you covered.  The City of Oak Grove and the Oak Grove Chamber of Commerce have come together to bring you a wonderful weekend already planned for you to take your kids.  This event includes something for the WHOLE family!!!!!!

For starters, Saturday December 5th.....Santa will be at the Winter Wonderland at the Karate Building located downtown at 1210 S Broadway and doors will be open from 2pm - 6pm...There will also be lots of Crafts, games, activities, and refreshments that will give the kiddos hours of fun!!!!!

Also on Saturday from 10:00 -4:30 there will be a poker game called RUN RUN RUDOLPH, and all money raised will go straight to our local Community Services League.  You can shop and play the game at, at least 7 different businesses.  The entry fee is a $10 donation and you will be given a Scorecard and Map.  You can purchase this at the Chamber of Commerce or City Hall.  During this event there will be a wreath decorating contest.  All the decorated wreaths will be donated to the Dessert auction to be auctioned off to help raise money for the Community Services League.  Come vote for your favorite and get a preview of the wreaths that you will have the opportunity to buy at the Dessert Auction on Sunday December 6, 2015 located at the Civic Center.  The Dessert action starts at 2pm.

After all this fun filled day, will be the Tradition of the Lighting of the Mayor's Christmas Tree.  The ceremony will begin immediately following the parade.  Lot's of fun Stuff for the whole family, Hope to see you there!

Lots of fun filled activities for the whole family to enjoy brought to you by the City of Oak Grove Parks Department and the Chamber of Commerce October 24th 6:30-8:30!!!  There will be a DJ playing the latest hits and many spooky Halloween favorites.   Also, there will be a Halloween Maze for the kids to enjoy......So come on out bring your Costumes and let's have a Dance Party to Remember!  That is, if your not too scared!!!!!

Local Businesses in Oak Grove are Participating in this Halloween Trick or Treat Event on friday the 30th from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Just come on thru town and look for the businesses that have a silhouette of a witch's head at their door.  The business doors will be open for the community and will have a treat ready to hand out to all of the kiddos who come dressed to scare!!!

Driving the Streets of Oak Grove on a Friday night, you can see the Panther Pride!  You can feel the love and support from the community!  Homecoming Parade is something we all look forward to, as Commercial Bank and other local businesses dress in Orange and black and stand on the corner’s and cheer our Boy’s On!

We’ll never forget the Excitement we felt as Oak Grove Panthers came so close as they finished second for the state championship back in 1986 and 1990.  I work with some of the parents here at commercial bank and the stories they tell of their boys that year, they were warned not to, but the whole team all decided to do it......The next day the whole team walked out on the field sporting their Mohawks, the parents may not have thought it was humorous then, but now they can laugh about it as they tell the story....

After losing to Maryville during the 2013 playoffs, the coaches called for a team meeting.  The team gathered in a weight room, and began preparation for the 2014 season.  The coaches insisted the session would be a look to the future rather than a remembrance of the past.

In St. Louis, Seniors swapped stories of the past four seasons as they were inside the Edward Jones Dome.  The conversation led them to 2011, when Coach Pat Richard arrived in Oak Grove, and laid out his long term vision of the Panthers playing for state championships year after year.

The first one came that Friday! "When Coach Richard always talked about winning state, I always questioned it in my head,” Senior Brinegar said. "Now that we're here, it's unreal." Oak Grove (13-2) claimed its first state championship by racking up 417 total yards, 348 on the ground.  The Panthers used a 22-point blitz in a span of 4 minutes and 11 seconds in the second quarter to take the lead for good 29-21.  History was made!!!

And the Question awaits.......Can we do it Again?  Today the streets are filling, as we get ready for the parade to begin.  Parents are setting out their chairs and marking their spots to watch their boys ride on the Float!  Proud Parents and Commercial Bank of Oak Grove is Proud to show our support along with the community for Our Panthers!
